It's dangerous and impossible to hit sequential drifts with a front* wheel drive car. My recommendation is that you shouldn't do it unless you own your own car and can pay for new tires every other month. It's fun but not really worth it if you wrap ur car around a telephone pole or flip. ( i know a kid who flipped his accord because he hit the ebrake at too high a speed )

so tell me what happens during the events of the drift

you start making a turn and as soon as your nose is pointing towards the turn you rip the ebrake and the tail will rotate around the nose of the car and the back tires will drag (e-brake turn i call it)
I have never done Initial D style drifting, but if you really want to see real life drifting search for the "best motoring" website and find clips of drifting or buy initial D videos and watch them.

i thought u had to shift to low gear and as soon as your nose is facing the turn completely you turn the steering wheel the direction you want to go? lol. dont make fun

drifting is just another techniqe to go through a turn @ higher speeds.
my FF Celica drifting is not really a good thong to do cause it actually slows down the car because of rear friction. it looks awfully nice though. race drifting was ment to be done w/ FR

"drift" truly describes sliding through a turn SIDEWAYS.

Nitrous..try www.willraceforfood.com ..i think that was the site's url. Those guys are drift crazy and there are vids of all sorts of drifting. The "drift king" even lays out the basic disciplines of racing in a series of articles.

Church parking lots are generally empty on weeknights...Drifting practice in a filled parking lot is not recommended. Every day on my way home I hit some turns really hard and can get half drifts on them..I have been too prudent to try an all out drift. The roads are empty all the time and the turns are gradual...its a winding road in a place where city cops have no jurisdiction..only the county police (ran by the sheriff) have jurisdiction, which are never there..

How do you drift, anyway?

I'm amazed you guys can do any drifting with the SE unless you smooth a thin layer of baby powder on the floor, or if the floor is dusty. I used the slicks all around, and the car has a lot more weight, so it flips a lot. I can't slide it, the weight keeps it down, and with the bodies sitting high on the chassis and low ground clearance, I can't pull off a drift. I wonder how you guys do it. These things have good grip and traction, but such low speeds. What a shame....
