helldriver -
The li-polys I purchased are 140 mah so they don't last long at all. I purchased them for absolute lightest weight possible. The li-ions that I have run in the past last at least an hour - I'm not sure of the exact time because I've never run them out in one session. takumi - You may be right about the forces of the shaft and the motor counteracting each other. I hadn't considered that in the past. My suggetion was based on my past experience with just the stock mini-x motor. However, the other part of that equation is the increased traction of a perpendicularly mounted motor. With a perpendicular mount, when you accelerate, the torque of the motor is transferred through the chassis to the rear tires which helps to plant them, increasing traction. It seems like a waste not to use that energy in to increase the acceleration of a car. |
ok ok sorry for the long awaited response. been workin on drag cars. Newest update......... got allen bolts HELL YA......... got garolite g-10 board for chassis and top plate. OH YEAH
should have it done by the end of the month. so be awaiting pics and tests...... oh anyone have mini-z oil shocks or something of similar size part numbers so I can order them up.... |
Shocks for the mini-z overlander are just about the right size. I believe GPM makes a set in anodized aluminum that I've seen on ebay for about $32.00. Do a search and for "mini z" and you'll come up with pages and pages of cars and parts.

Where did you find the allen head screws? I take it they are .050 socket head?
who's your fiberglass supplier? *grins* I can forsee a little competition on chassis construction. I really really like the layout of the mini-x chassis, as is. just need to lower the batteries a little, and make the chassis stiff enough that the suspention actually gets to do some work. I'm thinking a dual deck chassis would fit the bill just fine. *grins* I'd like to see 3 people with custom mini-x's up here... and I'd like to be one of them ;-) have you considdered building your own dampers? the stock springs seem pretty effective, but there's no dampening other than the cheap plastic used... |
all i can say is make 2 cause i want one!
