Initial test looks good so far

I haven't set up the board that will run the whole thing, but using a test board I have for another project that had a serial chip on it let me test the basics. I hooked a potentiometer up to it and was able to have the pic send its position to the pc and the PPJoy software did a great job passing that on to the game. Since it was just one pot, I used the keyboard to do throttle and used the dangling pot to steer, pretty interesting.
I think my initial prototype will be an external board that has the pic and serial components, with an ethernet jack that will mate with the transmitter's soon to be installed jack using a normal ethernet cable. The cable will let me pull all of the 5 pot values as well as one of the reversing switches if I want. If I get serious I should be able to fit everything into the handle of the transmitter so that only 2 serial wires need to be plugged in to the transmitter (and a switch to go between serial mode and normal RC functioning).
I hope to implement the dual rate function so that you can adjust for individual tracks just like in real life. I will do the trims too so that you don't have to calibrate the thing in the windows joystick applet.
Pictures to come when I've gotten some more work done.
