Quick Fix: Mini-Z Side Body Clips

This entry's going to be short as I'm busy with classes, but nonetheless...


One of the coolest things about Mini-Z is that the body mounting method is extremely quick and simple: hook the front clip in, push down on the chassis and that's it. The downside, though, is that sometimes those body mounts aren't assembled perfectly, leading to stuff like this:

Drifting - A Couple Demos

Hi everyone, back to drifting for this week.

So I finally got some time to get some video on Wednesday, and so I recorded a couple examples of me drifting my nearly-stock MA010.



Example 1: Feint drift

As I explained in the drifting guide, a feint drift is a very effective approach to start a drift, if you can get the timing and magnitudes correct. Here's a short clip (click on pic for video):

Really short post this time because I have a bunch of schoolwork to deal with, but nevertheless I found out something this weekend.

I mentioned last week that when mounting tires, try not to get glue on the sidewall because it reduces traction. Turns out, that only helps on low-grip tracks. I took my mounted tires to RCKenon (a very high-trip track) and they shredded up.

This week I'm just covering some tips I've picked up and figured out myself over the last year regarding tires.

Mounting tires: if you're a casual racer you don't really have to care about this, but for the semi-serious racer, of if you're losing tires on the track, then properly mounting tires is a must.

There are a few ways to mount tires, but as far as I know, they boil down to 1) tape, 2) glue, and 3) tape + glue. In any case, the most important part of mounting...
