Konami recently put out some nice shots of the initial 2 Tanks being released, I took the liberty of dressing them up and here they are...

First up: The T-34/85

And the Panzer-G...

i think you mixed them up...

generally, soviet tanks have the barrels on the side...

i'm pretty sure it's the other way around with the names

You're right GTR, I mixed it up.

It's been fixed. Thanks for the correction.

a LOT.... :)

actualy it was $79...it's a lot I know... but with the infrared battle system, importing, etc. and the fact that I have it coming after waiting so long all make it worth while... besides... I'll get another later when the prices drop ...either from TINYRC...or eBay

BTW TINYRC... I sent you an email

I'll be surprised if you actually get the Tank next week...Since the release date is Sept. 19th and the price (as stated by Konami) is suppsoed to be 5980yen (~$51 US).

But if you DO get it, I'll be JEALOUS! Cause I want them too!

I know they aren't supposed to be out yet according to the manufacturer... but there are guys in Japan that have been seeing them for about two weeks now... Usagi actually went to one store and they were sold out already...and he also saw the Digi Q Formulas as well...

as fa as the price is concerned... the same store has the DigiQ Propo special remote for $75 so you see that their prices are inflated by about $20...putting $79 for the tank right in line..:)

Wish me luck

I put myself on a reservation list to get the pair myself.

They're charging the MSRP and the shipping is 2760yen. They expect to have them in-stock on Sept. 20th and the Air shipping will take 1-2weeks to get.

Hey Swiss, what are the shoulder buttons on the controller for?

Can you control the turret by any chance?

It looks like the receiver for HITS is beside the barrel...I wonder if the tanks have to be facing each other to register a HIT. That would suck...no ambushing. ;)

- No, you can't control the Turrets.
- No, the Laser is beside the barrel (what shoots). The 'receiver' is the clear dome on the top
- No, you don't have to be facing each other. The target can be facing any direction for you to shoot them

You can also read the English Translated manual at ToyEast:

Namuna, if the receiver is the clear dome on top, how does it register the hits with the cap closed then? I know that clear dome is used to set id, for which the cap has to be open. I didn't find any information anywhere that the same dome is used to register hits.

Namuna

xsracer,

The cap is used for when you're SHOWING the tank only. If the cap is on, the Tank does not and can not register commands/hits.

Maybe it'll help if I say...I'm ABSOLUTELY SURE that the clear dome is the receiver.

I've seen the pictures on Konami's site and you're, of course, correct - clear dome is the receiver. However, the tank does move and does register hits with the cap on. I suppose IR signal goes through somehow, which originally led me to believe that that dome wasn't a receiver. I guess the sensitivity is not as good with the cap on.

now if only they worked in micro rs4's.

anyways, they are very worth the $$. i already bought decals of how many tanks i take down. it's gonna look like a football helmet!!! (yes, the real panzers kept track of their kills with white bands on the barrell of the gun. i will be doing this too)

the panzer rules. a little slower, but can take 5 hits vs the russian wimpy 4 hit tank.

get them!!!!! we got 2 so far and 6 more are on their way!! b

Did you see the lastest auctions that just went up? Panthers with a starting bid of $69.95 + $8 for shipping.

ViewItem&item=726020383

Thing is there are no bids on these auctions. I wonder why?

The seller I have been buying from is starting the auctions at $9.95 and they end up somewhere in the $40-$50 range with shipping at $15 from Toyko. I'll keep buying from this seller until Tiny gets his shipment in.

For a package that size you have to do a customs declaration form, etc, etc. I once shipped a 10 inch by 6 inch by 6 inch box to Canada once, it had some random stuff in it, had to pay 30 bucks shipping to get it there. :P
