Cool, what are the specs, it looks to be 2WD, fully ind. suspension, Speed 300, 8-cell?

irc
11-25-2002, 10:30 PM
IM not sure about the 8 cell but it looks like the car has plenty of room for one. The suspension looks trick! and the mid motor mount should work good. I can't wait to run one to find out how ballanced this car is. I think this car will be the one to beat on a road course but the BRP should still be the oval master.

irc
11-25-2002, 10:38 PM
It is 2wd and it looks to have adjustable camber front and rear! IM assuming the front toe and caster is also adjustable? As a matter of fact IM guessing the rear toe is also adjustable with a closer look. This is the most adjustable Micro I have ever seen having what looks to be the same suspension features as a 1/10 scale car. I can't confirm any of this untill we receive our first shipment so we will have to wait.:D

Who makes this WWS car and where can I find info on them?

irc
01-01-2003, 10:38 PM
We have a few pic's on the intrepidrc.com site but very little information is available on them at this time. Untill are order of cars and part arrive not much information will be available. I have a few of the 1/24 cars so if you have any questions I would be happy to help.

The WWS cars and parts have arrived! It could take awhile for us to get all the cars and parts on the intrepidrc site so if anyone want's one before that happens please email me. jeff@intrepidrc.com

BTW the 1:18 cars are selling fast so hurry on this one...the 1:18 kit came with full bearings, Corvette body, speed 300 motor and aluminum shocks!

whats the price? I also cant see the price of the PRO nor add to cart button:confused:

irc
02-20-2003, 11:00 PM
We just unpacked the order today so it will be awhile before the cars, parts and shopping carts are added to the site. The car kits are $88.00 and you have the choice of a Viper, McLaren or Opel body with the kit. If you like email me and we can get you a car before they are added to the shop.

what must you add to this to make it run?also is the viper 1/24 or 1/18?? what do these include? thanks :-)

irc
02-21-2003, 11:38 AM
Sorry guys, I have been talking about the 1/24 cars. The 1:18 cars are very rare so we only got a few that were pre sold. The 1/24 is in stock along with all the spares and options. The price is $88.00 for the kit with body. You will need to install your own electronics and the car is set up to accept the 6 cell 7.2v battery packs.

binaryterror
02-21-2003, 12:05 PM
IRC, can we see some pics of the 1/24th? or is the first couple the same?

What motors and all that? Diffs? suspension?

irc
02-21-2003, 12:10 PM
I will get some pic's up. The car you see in the thread is the 1/18. We have a small picture and parts breakdown on the IRC site now. The diff is the best I have seen! The car comes race ready with a 180 motor, diff, Foam tires and a clear lexan body. Your HMT 10 will be prerfect in this car:D

avenan
02-21-2003, 04:49 PM
In the meanwhile, you can take a look at my WWS.

I'm thrilled IRC is carrying these -- always good to know spare parts will be easy to get, even though I haven't had any problems.

Hows the speed on this car? Compared to a DRR or ABC DTM SP...is this the best car?

irc
02-21-2003, 09:23 PM
In stock form the WWS is much faster as it has a 180 motor and the other two have 130 motors in them. The WWS could weight a little more than the ABC because of the upper deck but it is far superior in desighn. The battery holder is good and the chassis does not flex around like the ABC SP.

D.S.I.
02-21-2003, 11:09 PM
are you going to sell the speed 300 conversion?:D

irc
02-22-2003, 01:23 AM
yes:D It will be awhile before it is in stock. The 1/18 car comes with a speed 300 but I have never ran one in the 1/24. It must fly! From what I have been told the WWS Pro rules the 1/24 tracks in Europe. Have you seen or ran one with the conversion? I have only seen pic's of the kit.

The 3 car kit's we offer are finaly available to buy on the irc site. We hope to have the part # and shoping carts available this week so guy's like D.S.I with cars can order parts. BTW we have the aluminum motor mount in stock:eek: Also the bearing kit. But IM still trying to figure out why the bearing kit cost so much:confused:

Cool irc...now i just have to save again, or sell.

DSI/irc...you have the WWS and a Mini-x correct? hows the difference? i have only raced a Mini-X and a Mini-Z never any 1/24th ABC/DRR or this WWS i want to know what it is like...

irc
02-27-2003, 11:30 AM
All the cars are good but in diffrent ways. The X is 4wd so that is very cool on it's own. The rest of the 1:24 car's can all compeat with each other but some will need more options added and tweaking. The WWS comes with foam tires a 180 motor and a double deck chassis. The car is very light and stiff so it handles good and is fast. The suspension also works well in stock form and all the parts are of high quality. Both of the other 2 cars lack some of these features thats why I think the WWS has an edge. The other two can compeat also but with more money and work put into them. Iv also found that the WWS car has lot's of rear tracktion where the other two seam to be loose in the rear.

IRC...do you plan to get more of the 1/18th scale version in? Any idea when, how much?

I think I might like to mess with the 1/18th and make it an RS4 destroyer!

irc
03-02-2003, 10:43 AM
Oh yeah the 1:18 will be in the shop in another 30 days I hope. This car is amazing!

binaryterror
03-02-2003, 10:51 AM
You know not only does my bank hate small rc's, but now my girl hates them more than one could imagine!

I have been reading what i can about these WWS's and they sound great...i was thinking of jumping up from the Mini-X and my custom to a 1/18th...but the RS-4 is cool, but everyone has one...this WWS must be as fast as most 1/10th with that motor!

irc
03-02-2003, 11:00 AM
Dido on the bank and girl statemant! I will let you know how fast the 1:18 is as soon as I finish mine. The RS4 is a great car but not in stock form. The WWS 1:18 is about $70 more ($170.00) in price but it has some nice features to justify it like the speed 300 motor, aluminum shocks and foam tires.

03-04-2003, 12:22 AM

what bodies are available for 1:18?
I know the have Corvette,Bugatti EB 110 and Ford Truck

irc
03-04-2003, 11:11 AM
The only body WWS offers is a Corvette for now. It looks as if the longer Micro RS4 bodies will fit the car.If you guys like you can pre order the 1:18 by sending paypal to me jeff@intrepidrc.com and note the 1:18 pre order. I also expect the Aktiv speed control back in stock this week;)

binaryterror
03-04-2003, 09:43 PM
how much for the pre-order?

Also will the HMT10 handle the speed 300 motor?

binaryterror
03-05-2003, 05:57 AM
I might...i am not a fan of soldering to PCB's but i'll have a friend do it. I am still working on my new chassis' for the X. I think the first one is done...but i think i really want this 1:18th scale WWS...

irc
03-05-2003, 10:39 PM
B, I will check on the HMT 10 for you. IM not sure what to do about the pre order as I really don't like to do that so I will just save a 1:18 for you and D.S.I. It could be awhile so dont worry about the pre order. Here is a few more pics! WWS 1:18 & 1:24 cars side by side.

irc
03-05-2003, 10:42 PM
BTW the instructions are all in German:eek: But never fear they show pictures:) Both cars are easy to assemble.

binaryterror
03-06-2003, 06:03 AM
Yeah definately save one for me irc. That thing looks so sweet.

Does the motor mount handle 180 motors as well (i might be stuck racing in the RS4 class)?

What is a good yet small 75MHZ AM receiver? I found an old Futaba Magnum Junior, and it has all the cool settings and such, might have to make a change from the 27mhz AM since the old Traxxas controller is kinda broken (long story about a young kid who took it apart and forgot 1 item...argh)

Do I need a special size servo for the 1/18th car?

OHHH i am pumped about this car....

irc
03-06-2003, 11:25 AM
B, The 180 motor should bolt up to the motor mount no problem. The old Hitec shreader was a good rx if you can find one.IM sure the RS4 class will ban you after a few races. I would run the Hitec HS81 MG servo in the 1:18 or the 1:24 car. The HS 55 would be to small for the 1:18.

binaryterror
03-06-2003, 06:50 PM
You know in the first pics of the 1/18th seems to have an HMT10 if you look really close. At least it looks alot like what i have (had to remove the factory heatshrink).

I found a local hobby store with track, they seem to be the best rc hobby store in my 15 mile radius. Thjey had many r/c's ive never heard of. One was called a Matiz or something seemed to be about 1/16?

They had a DRR for $58 and a Spec2 Acura for $79! They had monsterous amounts of monster sized gas rc's from trucks to cars, even a few 1/6th sizes!

The track is much to big for the X or the epoch, however the guy said they routinely run mRS4's for a class...i mentioned about the WWS and he had no idea, but he threw up an offer i couldnt refuse...when i get my WWS 1/18th i can race it stock against a mild mRS4, if i win i get a free car kit...anything they have so long as it is not RTR!!!!

Jeff i can't wait to get a full review from you on this 1/18th car...and one for myself!

tinyrc
03-06-2003, 08:57 PM
binaryterror, what Shop is it?

irc
03-06-2003, 09:16 PM
So how many car kits can you win? One a week? I want to thank Tiny for starting the WWS forum;) I will take some pic's of the 1:24 & 1:18 cars and answer any questions that people have about the cars.

binaryterror

It is Larry's Performance R/C (cars and track)

Located in Sterling Heights, Mi.

The guy was not the owner just a customer, he was listening in to me and the owner talk about the WWS. He is a ****y guy, or so it seemed.

I'm just happy i found a local hobby store that isn't all about trains or everything hobby.

Their prices seemed fair for a LHS, but i have no clue on the big scale things he had, they seemed pretty decent.

**Waiting on a 1/18th and 1/24th review**

irc
03-07-2003, 11:08 PM
B, I just spoke with the HMT 10 manufacture and he said it should work fine with the speed 300. He said the maximum current of the Speed 300 is 7-8 amps using a 6 cell battery. The HMT 10 is good for 10 amp he says. That is amazing to me for haw small that esc is. He now makes that unit to handle 20 amps!

GOt my Activ Car yesterday... it went together pretty easily... took me about 45 minutes.... the peices are very well machined...very high precision...I'm very impressed...the suspension is a little strange though...but I can see where the car will hook up on the thrack....plenty of room for electronics too

I used to love my ABC DTMsp but this thing makes the ABC look like doodoo....no chassis flex, plenty of room for electronics, light weight...can't wait to run it...

thanks

Jimmy

yeah, they might kick these cars out of the mrs4 class. i have never liked the micros much only because of the cost to make it handle half way decent. this car looks like it would school the mrs4s. one reason they might outlaw this car from the class is because its only 2wd, they would wine about how there is less resistance in the drive train and it would be faster. blah blah. after looking at the pics, it dosnt look to hard to make the thing 4wd. it would take a little machineing but....... im sure the car should handle great. when wil you have one in for me????

The Activ car is 1/24 scale so they wouldn't be in the same class as the MRS4 but if you are referring to the WWS 1:18 scale then I agree wholeheartedly.... and I'm waiting for mine

I do see every month races with the WWS 1/18th and they are better than the mrs4. I am using my rs4 micro as 2wd but that don't help much. The wws you can adjust in every position!

Next is the BRP with tuning chassis.

Watch our website for pictures in "fahrzeugdaten" and "shop" (we do not sell to USA, because there are dealers over here ...)
and also here at www.modellfreunde-rheinhessen.de wintercup, rennergebnisse and so on (surf the site)

Sorry guys.... I have been so busy with my full size race car I have had little time for any R/C besides sending orders out. I did get my WWS 1:18 car out on the road and it is very fast! I will check availability again next week but I have not yet decided if we will be stocking the 1/18 car as we would need more space and much more money to stock all the replacement parts. I do not like to sell any products that we can not get parts for ASAP so I would need to place a big parts order for the 1/18 car. But again I will check on the availability. I have seen a German site that would possibly ship the the USA?

Hey windstar do you have any pictures of the WWS-F1 and the ST 1:18 side by side?

irc

We can get the 1:18 but the shipping alone and exchange rate has us loosing money if the shipment is small. We are a WWS dealer as we stock all the 1/24 parts / hop up's and cars and I will find out more about 1:18 availability this week.

Iv been looking for a new 1/18 carpet car to beat the Brp guys. the WWS must be heavier and have more rolling resistance since its not direct drive like the BRP's

Has anyone seen a WWS 1/18 race against a BRP?

The only rules at my tracks are 1/18 & 6 cells.

IRC: Is your still available?

Thanks

Thanks. But it has allot more rolling resistance. From what I hear, the brp will smoke it on carpet. On a parking lot is where the M18 will shine.

I have most of the running gear. Been doing RC for years now. Had to put my 80 mph rigger away for the winter & need something else to do when it gets dark at 6 PM.

I asked this over on one18th but it seems like no one has one.

To the owners of WWS 1/18 cars. What tools are you using to remove the ball links? I see ball link pliers on heli sites but the space between the cup & ball is so small I dought the pliers would fit. My links have allot of play but it's a used car so I hope new ones will tighten this up.

& how about the C clips. Any specialty tools?

I see how to adjust camber on the front. But how do you adjust the caster? It looks like the front shocks when mounted actually tweek the wishbones & king pins into positive caster. Iv never heard of any car with positive caster.

Iv got a few more questions but lets start with these.

Thanks

That is a very nice body, what is the wheelbase? How soon till this body will be available? How much for the body and shipping to the U.S. ? Does it come with decals?

I would think that brushless would produce too much unusable power that would make a 1/24 car impossible to drive. Good luck.
