What a great little car. There are alotta hop ups out for it?Maybe some large capacity lithium ion batteries that will give a 45 min run time.hehehehe:o:D

Wedginator
04-20-2002, 10:32 AM
thanx..... yea, there are some hop ups for it.... some include, motor, front suspension tension bar, tires and bodies.....

the battery idea would be amazing.... i wouldn't mind having a 45 min run time.... haha

Mykroe
04-21-2002, 12:11 PM
How long does it run for and how long do you charge it for?

Wedginator
04-21-2002, 12:21 PM
well, it depends on the motor you're using....
I have both 1.0 and 2.2 motors
so, the 1.0 will give a runtime of 5-10 minutes
and the 2.2 will be around 2-4 minutes
I haven't tried the higher motors yet
The charging time is said to be 45 seconds, but i timed it to be 1min 6 secs

Mykroe
04-21-2002, 12:25 PM
Don't the motors go up to 3.0?

Wedginator
04-21-2002, 12:31 PM
they actually go up to 3.6.... i don't have them so i don't know the runtimes....

Mykroe
04-21-2002, 05:39 PM
Cool 3.6 most be pretty fast for that size car.

Hardtrukr
04-21-2002, 05:45 PM

Hardtrukr

The bodies look kewl. The same RX-7 and AE86 as now, but with the decals! And I am not sure if the hoods and spoilers are interchangible on the Initial D set like the Tuneup Box.

Wedginator
04-21-2002, 06:33 PM
i hope they are interchangable....
i want the trueno.. i've admired that car ever since i seen it....

I finshed the Mazda/Ferrari car.The base car is the Mazda rx7 with a Tyco Ferrari F-40 rear end.

I look great from the rear

Wedginator
04-24-2002, 07:06 PM
did you do that with putty? how'd u mold it? Looks really cool...

slotsurfer
04-24-2002, 08:05 PM
The rear end I hacked off a Tyco HO scale slotcar. Then I model glued the rear end to the BIT RX 7 body.I then filled in the gaps with Squadron Green putty and shaped it with a popsickel stick.Sanded it to shape then another layer of putty and sanded again. It really pretty simple if you have done any plastic modeling or body work on your Real car with Bondo putty. On the Japanese web ring their is a very detailed how to turn a Nissan Gloria into a BMW.You just need to use Babble Fish as the translator.Look in the Dressed up section.I have the links on my website.

mike_diaz19, it sounds like you were typing in the file names rather than actually browsing and selecting them? Also, FYI you can use the IMG tags so your pics actually show up on the page:

thier will be a 4.0b motor out soon.

Hardtrukr
05-21-2002, 01:52 PM
where did you here that?

323iT
05-22-2002, 02:57 AM
I know why they're going up so high in RPM
if you guys visit www.tomy.com
you'll see these Bit Racers.. they race in a set track just like Tamiya Mini 4WDs. Those cars can go as fast as possible and not have to worry about being able to steer them because they just run along the track

buzzkill
05-22-2002, 08:31 AM
I have a contact in HK wko lets me know when things are available from tomy, and he has confirmed that the 4.0b is coming.

I heard from some friends that some motors out in other countries go up to 7.0... Laff! :o

323iT
05-30-2002, 02:37 AM
I emailed an ebayer and he said that his 3.8 motor is NON-TOMY motor. I wouldn't run that in my car:mad:

E)(pul$ioN
06-04-2002, 05:58 PM
D00d da cars are gonna be soooo fast that you prolly can't handle it... Anyways, how many turns do u people think these motors have? :p

tinyrc
06-04-2002, 06:38 PM
That's a good question - who has disassembled one before?

E)(pul$ioN
06-05-2002, 11:10 PM
Of course it's a good question... :p

323iT
06-06-2002, 09:20 PM
i dunno.. 5 turns?
less turn = higher rpm = faster motor?

E)(pul$ioN
06-07-2002, 06:15 PM
Hecks no! The lower the turns da faster da motor is... I bet they are prolly around 50 or more turns... LoL.

isn't 5 lower than 50?

E)(pul$ioN
06-08-2002, 03:00 PM
DUH! Bit-Chargs are slow and if they had 5 turns it would prolly burn da motor up... But this is only from my 1/10 R/C idea... Cuz they usually have 27 turns and it goes way faster than a Bit-Charg, therefore i was guess the Bit Motor has more turns. Well you also have to consider da size of it... But I'll stay with my guess of 50 or more.

D00d y is this thread and Bit Char-g forums going slow? :(

First I would just like to state that I have a 3.8 motor. Very nice! Pick up speed is slow (compaired to a 2.6 which was my original motor) but "top speed" is incredible. Yes it's true about the 7.0 motor... kinda. I hear there is actually a 7.8 motor out. Crazy eh? But the highest one i could find was the 3.8 :(. Anyhoo... Imma be heading off to my local HobbyShop soon to pick up a Tomy Remote Controller... which i hear IS so much better then then original. After reading almost everyones replies, I'm still kind confused about the boost thing... someone wanna help me out? Explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old. I wanna be able to extend my rang without heavy mods like http://questformadness.com/ shows. I hear the range for one fo the controllers is like 30-40'. Finally i would like to know if replacing the bettery (for longer time run) will improve my proformance? prob not right? Anyways... I await to hear all your output! Bye!

Arrive2Defy, welcome to the Forums! The booster is a replacement chassis, which runs at a lower speed than a normal BC-G, but then at a higher speed when you hit boost. It requires the 4-channel Tx. As far as range, there are a number of ways to get more, but they all require some mods. You can increase the Rx reception by unknotting the antenna and putting it through the front of the car. You can remove the cripple cap if your Tx has it. Or you can replace your antenna. All of these are somewhat involved, but that's the price you pay for increased reception I'm afraid!

Arrive2Defy
08-23-2002, 11:34 PM
I think imma try some of those ideas... and imma look more into the booster when i'm at hobby shop... also imma see if i can get a bigger/better battery for my stock one. would hobby shop sell that? I'm also gonna try to get a remote control. =)

tinyrc

Not many LHSs stock BC-G parts, let alone special parts like batteries etc.

Arrive2Defy

i'll see what my local hobby shop has to offer... then when all else fails I'll just order online or something... :D
