what part/s would you like a pic of, anything specific?

Its sitting here on my desk with the body off right now.

The LHS I preordered it at had a stack of 12 in his first order and said losi doubts they will ship more until the new year but he may have just wanted to sell me another one.I would have bought one more if I hadnt spent so much money lately.Only 2 other people preordered them at that LHS.

Is that a 130 motor? I was kind of hoping it would be awd :(

Definitely looks like fun though.

RCdabbler

nope not a 130 its smaller and I dont know what size it really is.

Got some common stuff in the one pic just so you can sort of see how it compares and the second is the whole thing, truck, charger and controller.

Not 4WD but if they can build this then a 4WD could right around the corner.

It is very fun and surpizingly quick I havnt jumped it yet maily because I feel the rear shocks are to soft and it will bottom terribly so I'll have to make spacers for the springs and try some grease in the shocks to give it some sort of damping.

what's the deal with the radio setup?

Does it use a standard 27MHz band and crystals? It would be sweet to be able to control the Micro-T with a higher end Tx because one of things I've noticed on some of the videos of the Micro-T is that even minute steering adjustments can send the truck into squirrelly movement...Having a Tx that could give you more control over steering would be nice.

RCdabbler

actually the radio does work very well and you can adjust the rate on the steering to get it just how you want it.
I dont have another 27 radio handy to test it out with.

I can tell you the servo is a 5 wire which means the radio gear is not your standard hobby type setup.
I myself have been wondering what radio gear (servo, receiver, ESC) is out there that could fit in one of these.

I'm thinking with a different chassis, LI-PO's, and a good servo, receiver and BL set up it would be a little screamer.

Be careful with bumping into things, the steering arms break real easy! We broke 4 already!!

RCdabbler
12-05-2006, 04:31 PM
Are you talking about that flat piece (tierod) that links the servo bellcrank to the wheel spindle?

I've ran mine for about an hour total and so far so good but yeah, just looking at it you know it will snap something easily if it gets tagged.

mtnet2000
12-05-2006, 04:35 PM
That's exactly what happened! if you bump into something or race someone else Crack!! We where all racing bunp into each other and snap!

RCdabbler
12-05-2006, 04:44 PM
So if that piece gets made stronger I wonder what the next thing will be to break.Hmmm.

Maybe I'll have to find some thin NYLON and cut a bunch out for replacements.

So, I'm new to this page, but you all seem real cool. Anyway, MY Micro-T's both snapped the steering rods/flat piece of brittle plastic (lol) and I simply used some plastic from a Li-Po battery case it came in, you know the stuff, well, I cut it to the general shape of the Steering arm, and used a pin drill to make the necessary holes, and the thing is a miracle now, it never breaks those. FYI, there's another piece I broke (I REALLY beat on my Micro-t, it's SOOOO much fun!) I broke the rear control arm mount. dunno how I did It, but it's broke. dog bone axle went for a short flight and when it stopped cartwheeling, I checked and saw it broken. I'm assuming the cartwheels weren't all that healthy for it. anyway, I put in the high speed, 14 tooth pinion gear into it, and I think that's why it got the velocity to break the mount. and that's my two cents. Replacement steering arms=$4 (for the whole kit) and cut up plastic=free so... you pick. My friend used the thin tips of zip ties to make new steering arms, so aparently anything flexible plastic will work better than the stock thing. peace!

any word on hop-ups? graphite/titanium/aluminum???

im making custom platic steering rods too..

how did you guys make the holes?

Anx MAtrix
12-08-2006, 06:05 PM
Wow,

I just spent an hour.

used the ends of big zip ties.

I use a pushpin and my pocket knife to make holes.

I hit walls at full speed and they didnt break

So sweet

I guess I should measure and mark and cut some out BEFORE I break mine because I know its just a matter of time.

really, a minute, I got about an hour use on mine and nothing has broke yet but then I havnt really smacked anything hard yet either.

I've broken mine 9 times so far. I broke 4 steering rods, a shock, the lower rear control arm mount, and the front control arm mount. How you ask? HAVING FUN! love this car. parts aren't too expensive or nothin! just waiting for graphite items since all the parts are so darn small, I figure they'll be able to make almost the whole thing out of graphite... sweeeeet... if that happens though, we'll need to put a weight on it so the tires get traction, lol.

Unfortunately, mine are still in the box waiting for Christmas.

As far as the broken steering rods and tie rods, how about using an old credit card? I have used an old credit card to replace the H-bar on the bottom of my mini-z. Its never broken since. You know how hard it is to break a credit card in half!

Keono
12-13-2006, 12:54 PM
That's an awesome idea about the credit card. Credit cards are a totally different type of plastic or something. Someone once told me it was a fibrous plastic like some sort of nylon plastic or something, who knows. but that's an awesome idea too, since it's thin, light, cuts easily... I think I'm gonna make some like that. I'll show you guys how the steering arms break/where the stresses are once I figure out how to post a pic here. I used a clear plastic that turns white when bent, and each steering arm is white in the same spot (mirror). Don't bother buying the new "hop up" on e-bay for the steering arm, it's not worth it when you can make it for free.

Keono
12-13-2006, 01:03 PM
here's a REAL up close and personal view. Sorry about the craptastic image, my digital camera can't (or I don't know how) do macro shots. as you can see, the stress is to the inner-middle of the steering arm. it's the same on the other side. Regardless of the part, the FIRST hop-up you should get is ball bearings for the wheels, and the first after market hop up they need to make is a heat-sink motor guard, cuz if you run it for the full battery life, it gets HOT HOT HOT. anywho, have fun guys, and as you can see, it's really not that hard to make your own parts. If you want me to, I can do an illustrative guide for how to make steering arms for FREE... F R E E. as in, don't be fooled by e-bay.

WOW RCdabbler, that looks like it's going to be a tough mash up. what chassis are you going to use? well, I hope it works out for you man, post pics along the way!

RCdabbler

I'll have to make a chassis.
aluminum chassis but its the suspension links I'm concerned about and locking the diff and the trans output shafts.

I have so many projects waiting on me that I cant hardly stand it but soon I'll have 12 days off for the holidays so I'll try to get some stuff done.

Got the micro for x-mas and so far have not broke anything. New to the R/c thing, although I have been playing w/ a nylint crawler for a while. The micro is IMO a great little toy. I was wondering if anyone has set up a small track (indoor or out) and if so what materials were used. I was considering buying some cheap outdoor carpet and forming some burms and whoop-de-doos in my back yard. Anyway, glad to have found this board!

the credit card sounds strong but doesnt it stiffen the front suspension a bit for the size of the car, also how is everybody breaking those? there quite flexable which seems like it would flex in a hard enough wreck.
i have jumped my micro-t off a two foot brick wall and the rear hub broke but i fiked it with super glue and that held up till i could get the part and i have jumped it plenty since then and nothing else has broken

Keono
01-08-2007, 03:29 PM
your rear hub broke because of the direction of the impact. it was vertical, and the car is rear heavy (for obvious reasons) so the rear hub broke. wait till you break the upper rear control arms... those are a PAIN IN THE BUTTUCKUS to repair. you need to remove the whole rear end in order to replace em, lol.

sorry, I rabble, the front steering arms keep breaking becuase most of the impacts involve only one wheel, and the torque forces acting on the tire from impact are transfered into the steering arms too rapidly for the elasticity of the plastic, thus breaking it. long explaination short, it puts too much stress on the craptastic plastic that losi used for them. Losi is currently looking into making an "upgraded" car that doesn't have that problem. I'm going to assume and say that they will sell a fix for the rest of us who have that problem.

Man, I must either be real lucky or I got the toughest micro losi has built, because I still have not really broken anything. Got the bearings, spur set, and an extra screw set today. Cant wait to get the bearings in. Last night out of boredome I taped up my tires and had some fun sliding all over my wood floors. I also moved the rear shocks to the inside hole on the lower mount. It seems to have slightly lfted the back end and helped a very little bit w/ bottoming out. Anyhow, Ive run 15-20 battery cycles, and other than a few scratches and a body clip in place of a lost e-clip, it is still in the condition it was when I opened it!

ive had to unscrew one of the upper rear control arms and if your careful not to strip it you can remove it without removing anything, now that i have the rear hub my super glue fix isnt breaking.
is there any where to post videos on this sight, i have a few that are okay
