Has anyone heard if tanks will be sold separate without a controller. It sure would be easier on the wallet if they did.

An excellent question, sadly the answer is no. At this time you can only order the kit.

I'd love to be able to buy just a Tank as well, maybe they'll offer just the Tanks at some point.

I think if they did offer tanks w/out controllers, they might generate a lot of sales because there will be a lot of people who would want to customize their tanks or have multiple tanks to make their own IR army!!! With the price lowered because of the controller taken out, people already with these tanks will most like consider buying an additional tank or two for show. But like what namuna said, they would probably offer it at some point down the road but not now I guess since they might not have sold a lot of tanks to convince them to release the tank alone.

i can definitly see takara coming out with tanks w/o remote.... they're probably just gonna wait a little longer....

I agree with that too, it's marketing tactics... takara knows, like any good company making a profit, that diversity sells. I think the fact that takara has a multi freq. controller has been the backbone of the companies micro r/c division and makes it more profitable offering the flexibilty to the consumer to purchase multiple cars (or tanks in the future we hope) w/o the restriction of having to buy a full set with another controller you wont need.

Just my opinion. :D

maybe body sets might be offered. But only after all the tanks are released.

but wouldn't that require switching over the electronics and stuff? i don't think they will do that since people will break it and complain, creating alot of trouble

Thats a logic reply, I thought about that. But then again japanese companies are knewn to do such things.

Since the tanks have a programmable ir id there would be no need to swap electronics... ie; just program your new tank to an open id #. :D

Hmmm... well in that case it wouldn't make too much sense for them to offer just body shells. Although, I don't think that would be the case... after all the digi Q's cars came complete so they would most likely follow suite. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

What I am refering to is "Might" japanese companies ateast do offer on some other small r/c the option of different bodies. They mainly do this after a kit has sold to its limits which was set by the company. So its a possibly.
