Hello TTTT peeps,

Yesterday my Epoch Indoor Racer came in the mail and I also ordered all the electronics for the car if something breaks down.

I've been reading some german sites and this forum about TTTT, and it looks like big fun!, I want to give it a shot.

I don't have the money to buy new electronics so I thought of plan B: why not using Epoch Indoor Racer Electronics? I also got the gears for the steering module. The motor has to be geared down or I have to buy a whole new motor. What do you guys think?

One more question, what kind if model trucks do you guys buy?, is everything scaled 1/87 allright for TTTT? And you peeps build the chassis from scratch but I see a simulair steering mechanism comming back at some pics, can it be bought somewhere?

The motor and potentiometer are directly connected to the epoch pcb. So I could try to open a servo, remove the control circuit and solder the potetiometer and motor directly to the epoch pcb.

I'm not a electronic wiz but I think this might actually work! :)

Btw, I was thinking of building a MAN 8x8, I love this machine!, I would paint it into some sort of truck trial version with lot's of sponsor decals :)

I read trough overlanders thread, 30 pages wow

It was nice to read about Arch2b's TTTT project, I did see the pictures @ mzr.com and I always questioned myself what the little white truck was exactly :)

I would love to see how far killer finished his 8x8 project because I want to try and build one too.

I like this model I found in overlanders thread, maybe I can find another one or use Roco's:

Btw, you guys use 1,2v 120mAh batteries, 1/3 AAA batteries?
Since there is much space in a 8x8 model, why not use fullsize AAA's? that would give the same voltage but a much much higher mAh = runtime, is that possible?

Some info: Epoch's run on 3x 1,2v, 1/3 AAA batteries (not sure how much mAh they are) The Epoch electronics allow to run on 4x 1,2v, 1/3 AAA batteries.

The Epoch electronic board is 30x30mm.

Roco's MAN 8x8, I'll order one soon.

It would be cool to build a custom cargo box for the rear, since I see much bigger ones.

You see different types of "cargo" to putt some sponsors on, it would be cool to design my own, just big enough to cover all the electronics. Nice protective cage on this one!, would be great to copy this.

actualy, my first ttt was a 1/87 ford f150 that gave me room to work on the bed, im going to try to give a 5mant a try someday real soon when i get some more money, i am also goign to try a ttt-parts (http://ttt-parts.org) chasis....

but to the point ttt goes anywhere to 1/87 -real life trucks lol, so try any scale you want (but keep it small i guess) the bigger the more room you have, but then the bigger on ttt you have trouble finding a proper motor for it, enless you dual motor it...

my cousin knows nothing about electronics, so he took all the electronics out of a zipzap and but it in a army truck and said it was a ttt, haha,

Yup, you definately can drive a servo off an Epoch board, I've done so here:

That's exactly what I wanted to hear :)
Aren't the Epoch boards great? :D

When buying a servo for my Epoch board, do I have to look closely at it's operating voltage? like 3-6v is ok?, dito for engine?

Found some more pics of 8x8s :)

But I don't like these styles, I would deffinetly go for the Truck Trial look.
