Doing it withought a pinion puller is like trying to take a bolt out with a pair of pliers. Yeah youll eventually get it out but damn man the bolt is messed and it took 3 hours.

Do a search on the forum about pinion pullers and there will belinks so you can buy one online or at least ask for one for christmas. The only way ive been able to get the pinion off is by destroying the motor. Get the puller and search the forums.

it's just the gear, not the shaft

hes talking about the xmod motor...u nned to get the BRASS pinion oof so u can put it on the SBP motor and the SBP has a plastic one but has no use cause it wouldnt even touch the gearing on the car

This puller works great. http://www.slotcity.co.uk/shop/images/ninco/80201-160x120.jpg I bought mine at my LHS but they can be found here (http://www.sportcraftcars.com/ninco_parts.htm) also. Just click on the Ninco brand and its item # 80201.

Works like a dream, get the micro version, it comes with 3 different shaft sizes including the one you'll need.
