I have searched and found most of the information i need in regard to making a decision between a Mini - Z and an Epoch. Im leaning towards the Epoch as i prefer the smaller size. What id like to know in order to "seal the deal" is how the Epoch handles outside on non-smooth surfaces ( i.e. non tennis court type surfaces) .

I plan on racing / driving my Epoch indoors on low pile carpet 90% of the time but on occassion will take it outside on the street. Will it handle the outside terrain ( not dirt ...just street)?

Am from the UK and our back gardens are small I use mine on the street all the time, the epoch is very strong, however u will scratch the body from time to time, but hey there meant to be played with...........

Only problem I have had is some wires popping off when I have had head on collision with a wall, but five mins with the soldering iron and its back to normal.........

U can also raise the ground clearances with spacers and soft springs.......

ps I highly recommend the 4-cell mod, my epochs just fly now I love em...........

Thank you very much for the reply. The streets outside where you live....do they have lots of gravel? Very rough surfaces?

BTW...how much did you pay for your Epoch?

Epoch + rough surfaces = pooey

It won't go very fast or quick on rough surfaces. You need a smoother surface for this one. If you are going to be on the street that's not smooth, get a Z-Overland, or Racer.

Keep the Epoch inside.

No the roads are flat and smooth, i dont believe the epoch would wrk on gravel......

I cant remember how much i paid for my epochs, but i got stung on the import tax, coz i live in ripp off UK, wher they tax u for doin a poo..........

I'm with chelboed about keeping the Epoch off the streets. I'd go so far as to say you should keep the Epoch on a VERY flat and smooth surface. The super low clearance just isn't good for anything but the smoothest, flatest surfaces (for best performance anyway).

The Mini-Z Overland is a different story. Those things are lots of fun and can handle less than favorable terrain as well.

I appreciate you all chiming in. If the Epoch is less than able in regard to rough surfaces...i think i will pass as i have a feeling EVERY now and then i will be using it on the STREETZ. I lok into this MINI Z more. Btw are we speaking of Mini Z's in general as being more forgiving or the Overlander specifically?

Lets see what this X Mod brings to the table ....it may be the sidekick to my Mini Z.
