Here is a little project I started this morning. I cut the roof off of the 350Z. Then I cut the rear deck from the S2000 which matches the 2004 350Z convertable lid. I shaped both to fit nice and snug and attached the new lid. All that is left is to clean up the edges and paint the new lid to match the car.

Here is a pic of the 2004 350Z Convertable...

Thanks guys! Yeah, I am in the process of filling the cracks now, then I will sand and smooth, then paint it silver to match. I might go ahead and paint the seats and interior tan like in the pic.

Nice work!! That looks like it was manufactured in the factory than a home made job. That is really professional.

Yes I did. There was a little accident involving the envelope, a glass of juice and a 4 year old. I sent your stuff in a new envelope the other day. Hopefully the 2 stamps cover the weight, if not, I will send another.

Thanks bjv5....My intent is to have as factory looking as possible. I am waiting for the filler to dry so I can sand and paint it. I am trying to replicate the 1st pic of the real car. After that, I will throw some custom wheels on, I'm trying to find something new. I may wait for the wheels from Germany I plan on ordering.

Yeah, I heard those rims are worth every penny. I would also buy them if I had the privlige of buying stuff off the web. Good luck!!

Ok, I've made a little progress today. I still have to do some wet sanding, clean up the body lines on the sides, and hit it with another coat of paint. Any suggestions where would look the best to run the antenna thru?

Azimov

That's looking excellent so far. I'd run the antenna out the center of the trunk lid just behind the piece you added. But, thats just me.

metsrule119
07-03-2003, 09:04 PM
yea i agree... out the center of the trunk

Like this? Oh, and I couldn't resist putting the shiny wheels on. These are my favorite wheels.......until I get those wheels from Germany.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys! This had been one of my favorite projects I have done. It was my first major body mod other than lowering. It has given me the confidence to attempt more. I just want to thank everyone that has helped me in the past. This forum is one of the most helpfull and friendliest places to visit.

incredible job dude.
Although i do have 1 bad feed back

the seats look weird, you should just have the back instead of the bottom of the seat above the winsheild.

other than that it's great.
to makeit perfest i'd fix the seats and put it n a zz 2.0

Bad Company
07-15-2003, 01:01 PM
That's the only place the seats can go due to the PCB. The cover is already removed too. The only other option would be to leave them out altogether.

Char-g Ace
07-17-2003, 09:18 AM
just use the back of the seats.I'm trying it too, only electric blue

The interior and rear deck lid came from the S2000.

If radioshack ever makes a convert 350Z, they can only wish the finished product looks that good!!!!
